Everhardt Places Fourth at Finlandia Trophy

Sarah Everhardt finished fourth while a trio of ice dance teams sit in the middle of the pack after the rhythm dance.

Sarah Everhardt finished fourth overall in the women’s event to lead Team USA on day two of the Finlandia Trophy in Helsinki, Finland, the fifth of six competitions in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series.

The Virginia native posted a free skate score of 124.89 en route to a total of 191.17 points. Skating to “The Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky, Everhardt delivered two Level 4 spins and a triple loop-double Axel sequence worth 8.83 points.

The U.S. pewter medalist, making her Grand Prix Series debut this season, finished fifth earlier this fall at Grand Prix de France.

Lindsay Thorngren placed ninth overall and ninth in the segment with scores of 170.64 and 113.27, respectively.  

A trio of U.S. teams — Oona Brown and Gage Brown, Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, and Eva Pate and Logan Bye — sit in fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively after the rhythm dance.

The Browns set a season-best score of 73.35, performing a James Brown medley. They earned highest points for their midline step sequence to start their program and were awarded Level 4 marks for their rotational lift.

Zingas and Kolesnik, performing to a Bee Gees medley, posted a score of 72.72, while Pate and Bye notched a score of 72.58, skating to iconic songs like “Le Freak” by Chic and “Car Wash” by Rose Royce.

Camden Pulkinen finished ninth overall in the men’s event with a score of 195.18. He posted a free skate score of 130.84.

Competition wraps up tomorrow with the pairs free skate and the free dance.
