Seven U.S. skaters have qualified to the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2024, taking place Dec. 5-8 in Grenoble, France.
Team USA will have athletes represented in three of the four disciplines with five of seven competing at the event for the first time.
One of those athletes is Jacob Sanchez, the top men’s qualifier heading into the Junior Grand Prix Final. The 2024 World Junior Team member won gold at both his Junior Grand Prix events this season, the only men’s skater in the series to do so. Building momentum as the season went on, Sanchez warned new personal bests in the short program, free skate and total score at his second JGP in Slovenia.
In the pairs competition, Olivia Flores and Luke Wang qualified to the Junior Grand Prix Final for the second straight year. The 2024 World Junior silver medalists have stood on the podium at every event they’ve competed in the 2024 calendar year, including a silver and bronze at their two JGP events this season.
Team USA qualified two ice dance teams for the second straight year with both set to compete at the Junior Grand Prix Final for the first time.
In their second season as a team, Katarina Wolfkostin and Dimitry Tsarevski clinched gold and silver at JGP Czech Republic and JGP Poland, respectively, this season.
After taking bronze at their first Junior Grand Prix of the season, Elliana Peal and Ethan Peal claimed gold at the final JGP of the season in China to punch their ticket to the Final, setting personal bests for each of their performances.
Athletes secured their place in the Junior Grant Prix Final through the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. Each athlete or team is eligible to score points at two Junior Grand Prix events throughout the season with the top six point-earners in each discipline qualifying for the Final.
